Resilience has become the standout leadership competency of recent years. In a world defined by “permacrisis” - from pandemics to geopolitical shocks, true resilience is more than survival. It is the ability to adapt, stay focused, and keep moving forward.

Resilience

“Resilience” – the most prolific competency on person specifications for leadership roles and on search briefs that we have seen since 2023…. By some margin!

This is no surprise when you consider what the business sector has been through in the past five years – Covid-19, war in Europe, energy crisis, war in the Middle East, supply chain challenges, interest rates and geopolitical turbulence. “Permacrisis” – “an extended period of instability and insecurity” was the Collins Word of the year for 2022.
